I have a 96 civic coupe. I have the Apexi N1 exhaust on. Ive had it on for a while, but it doesn't sit right. On the bumper there is the indent on where the exhaust should be, but mine sits maybe an inch or two to the left. I tried pushing it over, and i've taken it off and put it back on trying to get it to sit properly. I really don't want to bend the hanger arm things. so anyone have the same problem? any suggestions on fixing it? last resort is just bending the hanger arm thing. Thanks.

 

You sure its the right one for a 92-00 Coupe? Maybe its for a hatch

 

I'm 100% sure its for a coupe. I just don't understand why it won't line up. I replaced the rubber pieces after the original ones didn't line up also.

 

yea, i use to have the same fu..problem , i spenD almost $600.00 in the Apex i, sound good but use to look like sh... finally i went to a Muffler shop and they Fixed for $45. they cut the hangers and weld new ones, cut like 3 inches from the pipe weld and WUAAALO!!! SOUND GOOD AND LOOK GOOD!!!!!

I did it in school on a lift. It didn't line up that day either, but I didn't have a choice it was either no exhaust, or a crooked exhaust.

 

yep bro same as me....u gona need to go to a muffler shop, let them know that u just want to straight the exhaust.

the problem is that ,that exhaust is (bolts in ) but it need to be installed in a muffler shop cuz is a lil bit longer or bigger from the oem, take it to the muffler shop, u will be happy after 45 or 50 $$ maybe less

 

the problem is that these companies mass produce these exhausts. so your not going to get 100% correct hanging on them... most of the time with aftermarket exhausts your are going to have to cut the hangers and have it re-hung if you want your muffler to sit flush in that little indent.

if you have a lift at school i would assume you have a welder as well... simply use a cut off tool and just cut the hangers and re-position your muffler. also there aren't any pics to see how far its off, but some times you can get away with just taking a pry bar and bending the exhaust hangers to where you want your muffler to sit. (i did this because my tip was rattling against the bumper) just be careful not to bend it too much, you don't want to break it.
