Default United Sport Compact Association formed!! Come meet with us December 12th, 2008!!

USCA (United Sport Compact Association)

Every year the PRI show plays host to the most influential people within the motorsports industry. This year is no different. Currently their seems to be little or no conferences being held in regards to the direction of the Sport Compact community and it's future. Nyce1s.com will be meeting with the various media outlets, race teams, racers, shop owners, manufacturers and event promoters that fuel our sport. We would like us all to be proactive in planning our future going forward. Their have been instances where we left our future in the hands of others. However, we would like to take this time to effectively plan ways in which we can further assist the sport and it's lifestyle. We can all come together and take our future into our own hands once we have the right ideas and concepts in mind.

We would like to formally invite you all to a meeting which will be held on Friday December 12th, 2008 at 6:30 pm. We are looking to effectively plan a way in which we all can race for the 2009 season while showcasing our various motorsports related talents. This meeting will cover a few different topics which are key to the evolution of our sport. They are listed below. So far their are a few confirmed attendees that are listed below. Anyone that would like to attend please send me a pm and reply within this thread. We greatly appreciate it.

It's really sad this thread has a few response's. As much as everyone cried about not having a series to run,you would think there would be a lot more input or ideas on how we can get a series together before March or April.

I spoke with Craig and he has alot of good ideas and it sounds very promisingWe all just need to come together and make this happen. I know everyone can't make it to PRI,but it wouldn't hurt if you guys left some great ideas, constructive criticism and opinions here on the board so it can be discussed at the meeting.

And trust me...from the plans and ideas i've heard. It really sounds like it can work with very little sponsorship. ANd the sponsors we do pick up will be an exta added bonus to the pot.

Thanks

okay, so yes this may be a good idea but all idea's are worthless unless they are put into action and getting people together to circle jerk each other and talk serves no purpose in my opinion - the same conversation that will be had at the meeting can be had right here on Honda-tech with a lot more contributing parties

many have already offered great ideas and there are new threads on a daily basis offering new insight -- basically you can sit around and talk or you can put things into action -- i have no interest in talking because i am not going to be the one putting these things into action most likely that is not my cup of tea

i guess this could be a good idea and may turn into something worthwhile but it will take a lot to not just see this fizzle too, i wish you guys luck

is the meeting open bar? that will bring some more people for sure

I think that people act and react differently online than they do in person...no one is scared to talked and not follow through online. Put people in the same room and hold them to action...its a different story. At least that is my perspective...

James,

With all respect I agree with you that the same converstaion could perhaps be had on honda-tech but that is all it is. Is just a converstaion, which most of the time turns into people that don't race bsing and bad mouthing NOPI, NHRA, or someone in general. There is nothing that productive that comes out of the threads. I don't know the all the details of this meeting, but it is my understand to get together, track owners, racers, and so on. Brainstorm ideas and try to put a plan in place that will work for the 09 season and going forward. It may or may not work, no one knows but atleast someone is trying to make some thinging happen for the 09 season. Even then I am sure people on honda-tech will sit back and bad mouth and complain but nothing is getting done dwelling on the past.

I would hope you could attend since you have been around the import racing for a while, have traveled to different tracks, races and so on. I would think a person of your experience could provide some helpful insight and ideas. Not saying you need to do anything or take actions but the people that use to race when it was good can shed a lot of light on what worked and what didn't. There is a reason you stoped racing and traveling correct? Maybe it is family, expenses, or maybe you just out grew it. Whatever it is can help people that are trying to make a new series work for the future of import racing.

Just my thoughts

See the thing is, alot of us do talk and follow through. We show up to the races, build cars for these events, keep manufacturing new products for us racers even through these tough times, etc.

The problem is, that alot of our input is worthless if certain organizations can't put it to work. Individuals or even an association of racers dont make the final decisions. Racing events organizers are the catalysts to make these changes. You can throw all your ideas to them, but if they dont want to listen and make the change, nothing is going to happen and its going to stay the same forever. And as far as associations, there's been several that tried to make a difference through the years but unfortunately each had their own agenda. You just cant make up a group like this and not follow through for the best of everyones interest. Its going to split up the group and you wont get anywhere.

Sorry to go off on a tangent here. I support Julian and NYCE1s. I'm keeping my mind open to what they have to say. I wish I could go to PRI this year, but I'd like to participate and help out here for the West Coast. Keep me updated Julian. Looking forward to what you guys have in mind.

just my 2 cents , but I beleive both coasts should get organized and run one full schedule with a chosen racing sanctioning body of their choice that's dedicated to one side of the country or the other. West race in the west and the east race in the east for one whole season, and also their should be a shoot-out here in the west coast next year in the winter. just to feel things out and see how the economy is going, and maybe 2010 a east and west schedule combined under one sanctioning body?.

I'm pretty sure the goal is to have 1 set of rules, Have a EAST and WEST series and maybe come together for 1 big national event.

The racers are going to be the voice. Not the sanctions or the sponsors.

I really dont wanna give out too much info. Cause i'm not even sure i was supposed to say this much. Just PM them...when you hear it you will be all for it.

I might be able to make it even though my current position at work doesn't allow me to race much anymore. I can at least listen in for the VW Folks and pass on any information to them!

Besides, it will be nice to see everyone again!
