i stripped one of my valve cover studs and i cant loosen the 10mm bolt. the bolt turns but it doesnt loosen. i need to take my valve cover off...how should i go in doin this? show i just break off the stud???

 

You will need two nuts that thread onto the stud.

Put one nut on and thread down enough to fit the other nut on.

Tighten down the 2nd nut onto the first.

Turn the first nut and extract away.

that would work with the middle 4 nuts underneath the spark plug cover....but the stud that is stripped is the top right stud...the nut is not open ended, its rounded off at the end and you cant even see the stud....u kno what im sayin?

I had one like this before and I took a pair of bolt cutters and cut it away the nuts are weak and it didnt even scratch the valve cover.

 

 

yea.. that bolt is like a bolt within a bolt.. kinda.. just break off that bolt.. and take off your valve cover and then you'll see its another 10 mm bolt screwed onto your head.. Take that off with a 10mm wrench.. and order another bolt from honda. Get ready to get raped from the dealer.. but o well..
