Default FS: DJ gear - Technics, Denon, Sony, etc

It's time to sell my DJ setup. I don't really want to do this, but with 2 little kids running around now I just don't have time to mess with my turntables anymore. Plus, they're just going to break all this stuff sooner or later so I might as well sell it now . The 1200's and headphones were purchased new in 2003, the mixer and cd player were purchased new in 2005 at Platinum Records here in Portland. I will have actual pics up this week, for now I'm using stock photos to give you an idea of how things look.

Technics SL-1200Mk2
I bought these brand new in 2003. I still have the original boxes, paperwork, and all the extras. Tonearms were always properly weighted, and the one time I moved them they were packed up properly to avoid any damage. They come with Ortofon CC Pro cartridges, and I believe I have a couple extra needles for them too. Asking $300 each or $500 for both.

Specs:
High quality for professional and DJ use / Universal S-Shaped Low Mass Tonearm / Gimbal Suspension / 33 and 45 rpm / Detachable Dust Cover
- Remember what DJs used in the club before the 1200s? Nobody else does either. That's because the turntable's heavy-duty design, vibration-resistant construction, and mechanical precision make a lot of what those early DJs did possible. This deck was the first to feature a Direct Drive motor, quartz movement for total accuracy, adjustable tone arm weights, anti-skate control, a pop-up target light and a sliding Pitch control. With each new improvement, as form follows function, the Technics turntable has become a thing of beauty. From the community centers at the beginning of the disco era to the clubs of today, the Technics SL1200MK2 sets the standard again, from a tradition that the series has championed for over 30 years. Vibration Resistant Construction - A die-cast aluminum body, heavy rubber base, and a lack of unnecessary components or empty space allow the 1200MK2 to absorb unwanted vibrations that could otherwise interfere with the sound.
- Ultra-Low-Speed Motor / Super-High Torque - The 1200MK2's ultra-low-speed motor and high torque (1.5kg/cm) allow for super quick start-ups (0.7 sec) and stops.
- Quartz Locked Pitch Adjustment - Allows for accurate quartz-locked pitch adjustments throughout its 16 percent (+/-8) range
- Total Direct-Drive Accuracy - Instead of just spinning the platter, the classic Technics Direct-Drive system actually incorporates it into the motor, reducing the number of parts that can malfunction and making consistent, accurate speeds possible. It's a system that has been providing fast start-up times and unequalled responsiveness for over thirty years. Wow & flutter 0.01% WRMS,, rumble -78dB

damn, are they that much now? I paid $400 each for them, and it would have been like $375 each if I just got the regular silver ones. Yeah they come with cartridges and spare needles, and I have record cleaning brushes etc.

What's serato?

Serato is a program you use that let's you play your mp3s just like they are vinyl records. Best deal I've seen is what I paid for mine $450 new. Guitar center retails them for I think $700+. You're basically payin for the serato hardware, the little box that connects your laptop to mixer to tables. You nver have to buy another record again! Serato is something that might sway your decision on sellin those bad boys.. btw it is made by rane. What do they make that's not good?

Ahh, sounds like Traktor, Ms. Pinky, etc. That was going to be my next purchase since all my music lately has been from Beatport, nothing on vinyl anymore.

Serato is the best. A DJ without serato is like peanut butter with no jelly.
