Is it only on the exhaust side? H22 rocker wear is not uncommon at all.

IMO, that extra oiling is not helping anything. All its going to do is splash and run down the drains if you have it plumbed where i think you do.

rockers are a wear and tear item...eventually. There are way too many variables which have been brought to the table to explain it but where there is heat and friction, there is going to be wear.

try a better oil Amsoil HDD is chock full of Zinc and Phosphorous

info i got from AMSOIL, take it how you will

ISSUES: Engine oils contain anti-wear additives and the most com-mon anti-wear chemistry is zinc dialkyldithiophosphate(ZnDDP), which contains a combination of zinc and phos-phorus. In 2005, in an effort to guarantee catalytic con-verter performance in new vehicles, the American Petro-leum Institute (API) and International Lubricants Standards Approval Committee (ILSAC) instituted API SM and IL-SAC GF-4 quality standards which reduced the maximumlimit for phosphorus to 0.085% and 0.080% respectively. Both API SM and ILSAC GF-4 specifications also contain a minimum phosphorus content of .065% and .060%.Previously, API SL/ILSAC GF-3 oils were restricted to 0.10% phosphorus level, so a concern arose that oils con-taining lower levels of zinc/phosphorus could provide insuf-ficient protection in high pressure areas of flat tappets and camshaft lobes found in many older cars and high-performance engines.

AMSOIL (HDD) is a 5W-30 weight combination diesel/gasoline oil with a higher starting TBN to handle the significant stresses from high soot loading and acid generation in modern diesel engines. HDD contains the high phosphorus and zinc required for long life.

HDD Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Diesel Oil, Phosphorouse PPM-1266, Zinc PPM-1379

info on TBN just if you were wondering what it meant

you have to either replace the rockers at 800 dollars for an exhaust set or get another head.

I don't think the wear many have experienced is remotely acceptable.

I know why this happend. Blox is sh*t, specialy with the same oil 5w30. you'r not first and not last. Use another cams. Better crower not much cost and you won't have the same problem.

wrong. Happened to me with crower cams.

It has happened with OEM, JUN, Skunk2, Crower, Blox and likely more.

no, thats not right, i think you'd get more by using that oil in that its a higher quality oil with better lubrication technology

a 0w-30 would probably help this though, since you'll get more flow when its cold, and a higher quality oil won't slide off the cam as much while the engine isn't running

Rocket is supposed to come out with some also, along with roller rockers.

Now is this issue only with h-series exhaust side rockers or do bseries, ect. have this issue also ? Ive had it happen to me also with OEM cams at the time i thought it may have had to due to my valve adjustment but over the last few years it has been an issue for many people. Which leads me to believe its something else, what it is ....idk, my first thought would be oil starvation but looking at some of the recent occurances it looks like it doesnt matter. Has anyone experimented with running different weights and brands of oil and how it has affected this ?
