Putting Urethane in Trailing arm bushing..bad idea?

i was curious and wanted to kno if it would be a good or bad thing to do.

Not a good idea. They tend to bind up and do not allow proper suspension movement throughout the full range of rear suspension motion. There are a couple of threads on here about people switching from poly RTA bushings to either new OEM rubber or Mugen rubber RTA bushings, and they reported MUCH better handling.

Actually, I was thinking of jamming some rubber pieces in the gaps in the stock bushings to reduce the deflection.

I've done this with engine mounts, works a treat in that application...

The rubber I've used is fabric reinforced sheet about 8mm thick, I think from an old conveyor belt. This is very dense stuff...
