Default Ls "mesh" wheels info

hello, i recently bought a 95 cx hatch and it came with ls mesh wheels, they are in decent shape but after i cleaned them up the dark color on the sides of the spokes pretty much came off. i like they looked. so was i just dirt and **** causing the dark color or are they suppose to be painted like this?

So my question is what color is it suppose to be from factory, thanks
here's a pic.... the area in red is what i'm taking about.

That area is supposed to be painted darker, more of a charocoal. I have some meshies and just stripped them down. Painted them charocoal with a polished lip. They look sick. Will post pic up tomorrow.

Mine are the same. It's a bit more darker than the other parts of the wheel.

Ha funny to say. I did use dupli color. But first I stripped the whole wheel down with Aircraft Remover( awesome stuff, eats everything) You'll probably have to do it more then once scrubbing them. Then after all the clear is off, wetsand any rough parts.

Tape off the lip all the way around, prime the wheel. I sprayed them with dupli color truck and suv paint. It was the only color I really liked. When they dry, take off tape and clear the entire wheel.

Its a very simple yet time consuming process. I had to do two wheels at a time b/c they were on my car. So it took my roughly 5 hours to do two. Hope this mini diy helps

Here is one pic I found. Will put up a side view pic tomorrow.
