this soft brake pedal is driving me nuts-- i need help...
I recently did a Legend type 2 caliper conversion on my 92 Prelude Si. Did this when I did my 5 lug conversion.
Ever since, the brake pedal has a lotta play very soft.
I bleeded the brakes several times, with no luck. Then I had the dealer bleed it while it was in there for a few other things... still soft.
What can I do? What needs to be upgraded, what else can I do to just get rid of this soft pedal??
I will try steel lines but i have been told the difference will be minimal if anything.
If replacing master cylinders or other parts are whats in order to fix this, could you all recommend brands if aftermarket, or tell me where I can get the parts that I would need?
I'd really appreciate the help

just by searching on ebay... I've found some information but I'm not sure what it means so I need some help here...
Replacement Prelude master cylinders are routinely listed at 15/16" bore. (not sure which part on the cylinder thats refering to)
Replacement Legend master cylinders are routinely listed at 1" bore...
is that difference too large to work??

I'm assuming by "Legend type 2 caliper conversion" you're referring to the Legend GS 2-Piston Calipers..
Few Questions:
What Rotors are you using?
You put on new pads I'm assuming also?
Not loosing Brake Fluid are you?
If you wanted to try a new Brake Master Cylinder and try more pressure, your best bet would be a Prelude S Model.. I think they're smaller.

when you bled the calipers did you make sure that the caliper bleed port was facing up while bleeding, its necessary to remove a caliper bolt and flip the caliper upwards to get the bleeder facing up. dont forget to use a 2x4 or similar to let the caliper squeeze while bleeding.
is your brake line getting kinked, or squeezed anywhere?
when you re-installed your brake lines did you use NEW copper crush washers?
usually a master cyl will slowly sink to the floor, if this is occurring then its most likely a master cyl
also check if your getting proper vacuum to the brake booster, check the one-way-valve on the brake booster, use a vacuum tester to check the brake booster for leaks.

the needle was facing up beacuse i swapped them, the legend's left caliper is on my prelude's right side and vice versa.
my brakes aren't sinking to the floor, you just have to push them in probably about an inch before the car actually starts responding

if not then the master cyl could be sticking, but tha'ts very rare and you would most likely feel your brakes slightly dragging
