Default Odometer messed up

I got into accident the week of thanksgiving, bumper messed up, the hood was damaged, front right headlamp, and fender was bent. So here in San Diego it rained Thanksgiving and basically I believe that some water got into the crack of the hood. When i went to go shopping Friday my speed odometer was trippin out. I was barely move and it would jerk and then when i finally was going steady it would reach 160 and never come back down. What I observed was that it'll come back to normal after the car is warm. I checked the back up fuse and its not blown. Any ideas other than something is loose. Should i be looking somewhere in particular if something is lose? All fuses are intact and none are blown.

You mean the speedometer? I got into an accident about a month ago and mine has been acting up to (01 dx coupe). Sometimes it works and other times it bounces around or will say im goin 140+ when im going 50. Im going to take a look at it tomorrow if i have extra time. I'll let you know what i find if i get around to popping the display off.

My guess is the wheel speed sensor became damaged during the collision.

Second that. It's the sensor with three wires coming out of the top of the transmission. I'd replace that bad boy and see where that gets you.

Simple as that. It's on top of the transmission right under the intake. I'd call up the local dealership and get a part number. I spent a few minutes looking around on Majestic and I couldn't find it.
