Default Turbo Manifold Choice

I am in the market for a new turbo manifold... and i was wondering which is better. I have looked up and down at the different ramhorns out there and the top mounts and the other manifold.. and have read the top mounts flow better than the ramhorns... but i looking at the shorty manifolds and a manifold called the protype(i think that it on the spoolperformance website or something).. i am just wondering what is up with all these manifolds.. the turbo that i will be buying is a borg warner s362.. and i am not running as ac... thanks for the comments...

i am just really just asking if the shorty will do a good job... i will be trying to make about 500whp or more..

It should do it. But thats a pretty big turbo, you may want to look into the top mount since you will have more room for the turbo

its your personally pref really 500whp or more is possible out of a prototype and diffinately doable on a ramhorn or topmount. a inline pro log mani is also nice

With a turbo like that, i assume you're looking more for top end power than spool and streetability; however, they are still a concern. I would opt for something with a lower angle collector and smooth runner design. I decided on a Prototype manifold similar to the SLS version. It has a bit lower angle collector and is more equal length than a miniram

they worked for me, and those headers are sick man. Did you buy the headers or weld it up yourself?

My buddy Matt built it for me. He's a great welder and makes some sick stuff. He does sell stuff if a need arises

Its basically an SLS Prototype. I'm sure its not making life easy for Matt to say all of this, but he used to work for SLS.

yeah.. i was looking at the inline pro manifold.. and i like the fact that it is a cast manifold.. i have a blox cast manifold right now.. and i like it.. but i am just looking for another manifold that flows better than that one..

The protype manifold and the inline pro manifold or the shorty is my choices that i am looking at right now.. the issue is about the warranty in them.. i like warranties on things...

phil at spoolin is a good guy and his prototype mani looks good quality. inline pro is a great choice as well see if they have a warrenty

our customer 1quikgsr made 519 WHP on our prototype 1 manifold on a 38mm gate with an SC61 ( 61mm turbo)

since then he's upgraded to a bigger turbo S372 / fullrace manifold and is making 700+ now

no wastegate port ? so internal gate ? no go on the AC compatibility with internal gates

the discharge housing section takes up too much space. hardly fit a 2.5 in there comfortably.

Each runner, true. Pairwise, they're almost exactly equal. That's the way my buddy built it. I'm not saying its going to do anything special, but he did put some thought into it

ok cool. that is a good thing to know... it is just that there are so many manifolds out there and i am just trying to pick one that is the right one for me.. and my setup that i have...
