for 1500 you cant do an h23vtec but you can do an h22a. i bought mine for 1000 shipped. you already have everything you need. i used the h23 engine harness on the h22a. i also used the h23 fuel rail but with the h22 injectors. i also used the h23 dizzy and external coil instead of the h22a dizzy. you just need a p13 ecu but i recommend a p28 or p72 with an h22a map. the engine will drop right in. then you just need to add the vtec wires. ooh and you can also use your h23 tranny. i used it and everything works great!

What is different about the p28 and p72 compared to the p13?

p28 and p72 can be easily moded for tuning fuel/ignition... , p13 not so much. I don't know why.

where did you get your engine from? and what is a dizzy? also i thought you needed to use a h22 harness and ecu with a h22 engine? i found a engine and it comes with everything...or should i just get the engine by itself so itll be cheaper. and about adding the vtec wires...what do you mean about that, like where do you get them or are they already attached to the engine. im new to this so please help me out. if you can get me some info like sites on how to install or pics thatll be great.

I got my h22 from Hmotorsonline.com, very reputable company. They provide the ecu (p13) and a cut harness with all the sensors needed, although you'll just need to cut the vtec solenoid and vtec pressure switch off and wire it into the ecu yourself.
Dizzy is the distributor.
I have a guide that someone gave to me a long time ago that i can send you, pm me if you want it. It helps but you need to do more research if you've never done this before.. also a helms would be very useful, download one at www.spoonhonda.com

Hmotorsonilne.com is also the only place I personally would consider buying a motor from as well. But they are money. I got my H22 from them for like 1400 shipped. And that wasnt with an ECU. ECU will run about another 200 or get it from somewhere else.
Frankly if this is the OPs first swap, I would recommned him waiting until he has a little more money. Like mabey 2500.

You can efficently do a swap for about 1500 if you know waht your doing, unless you got the hookup on parts and what not. Dont for get its stated that you have to do a Tbelt job when you get the motor from Hmotors. Theres lots of little things that add up when doing a swap, and they get to be a real pain in the ***.

Heres a little something Ive come up with when doing a swap, good ideas on what to replace. http://www.axidworks.com/h22swaplist.html

where would i get the vtec solenoid and vtec pressure switch from? and why would i have to wire it in the h22 ecu, isnt the h22 ecu already a vtec, so it should already have it wired in it right?

yea, the h22 ecu has vtec already, but the ecu you have in your car doesn't. Whenever you get the sensors you're gonna have to run wires from the sensors to the particular pins in your existing ecu harness.

as for looking for the sensors, you'll have to keep an eye out maybe in the for sale section or go to a junkyard and hope that they have them. if i come across some ill let you know but i really haven't seen any around.
