Default what tires do you guys recommend????

I have a 2000 civic SI and its making 450hp to the wheels.I currently have 205/40/16 AZENIS RT-615's on the car,i really llike the tires but i would like to have 205/45/16's on the car and they dont come in that size.its a everyday driver and i was thinking about getting the AZENIS RT-615 in 215/45/16,do you think that they would be to wide for the car?Or what is a good tire that i can get in 205/45/16? I dont care about milage i just want something that is gonna hook!any advice would help!

You can use either 205/45-16 or 215/45-16, and you have a couple of choices for the stickiest tires in each size. The Bridgestone Potenza RE01R is even stickier than the Azenis and comes in 205/45-16. The new Toyo R1R is also available in 205/45-16. The Azenis is available in 215/45-16, and so is the new Kumho XS.

There aren't a lot of reports out about the two new tires yet, just a few, but I haven't heard anyone claim that either is better than the RE01R. I would get the RE01R if I were you, based on what you say you're looking for.

They're not as sticky as the Azenis. (Hankook is going to be discontinuing them soon and replacing them with something more competitive.)

Here is a test comparing the RE01R and the Azenis. An earlier test showed that the Azenis is MUCH stickier than the Hankook.

If you don't want to spend as much as the RE01R costs, then get one of the others I mentioned. Here are current prices:

Bridgestone Potenza RE01R 205/45-16 $161 plus shipping at Tire Rack
Toyo R1R 205/45-16 $128 plus shipping at Tiredeals4less.com
Kumho XS 215/45-16 $101 plus shipping at Tire Rack
Falken Azenis RT-615 215/45-16 $99 plus shipping at Vulcan Tire, $101 with free shipping at Discount Tire Direct

If money is not to much of an issue I would go for the RE01R... if not the Azenis!

does anyone think that 215/45/16 would be 2 wide for the car for a everyday driver? or should i just go with 205/45/16?

No, it's not too wide. And you're only looking at differences of 10 mm, which is quite small. I don't think the width should be a big consideration at all. Get the tire you want, based on price and performance, regardless of whether it's 205/45 or 215/45.
