hondata with auto cars

hondata with auto cars
i was talking with my friend cdome2 about this the other night and just wanted to hear other people's opinions too. can you use a hondata stage 2b on a car that has an automatic transmission? I was under the impression that the hondata replaces your ecu, which in my case holds the shift points and controls the tranny.
this is for a 98 ex civic auto and its odb-ii so would there be anything else that I would need if it were possible. I know a harness for odb-ii to odb-i but anything else? I have a v-afc and and was planning on doing other stuff but I was more impressed with people's results with hondata then doing simple piggy back stuff.
any comments or help would be appreciated.

thats why you dont race with auto!!! why would you? manuel driving is the best. all the fast cars i know of dont have auto and all the fast cars i do know personally all have manuel!

Last time I read an article on the Supra, the auto was .3(or was that .03) of a second faster than the manual in stock form.
By the way, what makes Honda auto transmission suck? Is it the quality of the parts or does the design just plain suck?

well they are obviously not designed with racing in mind. a camaro SS is, even the automatic. the difference is obviously the strength of the tranny, but also the ecu program which determines how fast and hard it shifts. also, i dont know how efficient an Integra LS AUTO is in handling huge power gains. In my case, I dyno'd at 152.8 hp and 121 lb/ft torque at the wheels and the numbers & dyno graph are almost identical to the manually equipped JRSC'd LS. my times also are up to par with the manual. (both done at Jackson Racing) My car is good, however, i have noticed that many of the turbocharged auto LS's of late are SLOOOOOW! So is it just that the automatic cannot efficiently handle the higher power? Who knows.
