Default EGR Delete CRX HF

So I've tried to search but wasn't able to find anything. But can you delete the EGR Valve on an HF. I've heard you will get worse MPG's but then i read a post on here where a guy was having issues and when he blocked it off it got better MPG's.

But i'm curious if you delete it does it throw a code? Can it hurt anything?Sorry if this was posted somewhere, i tried to search.

You can remove it and put a plate over the port.
Then just leave the EGR connected to the vacuum line and electical connector and then tie it down someplace in the engine bay.
The lift sensor will still function so you won't throw a code.

Thank you, do you know where to get a block off plate? I've found them for the h22 and f22 but can't find them for a d15.

Just a thought,
Instead of unbolting it and having it flop around,

You could probably get some thick gasket material
and cut it in the shape of the outline (with no passages,)
Then bolt the egr back over it..

Lift needle sticks out the bottom of the EGR a little I think.

D15 isn't a popular platform to build on so you probably aren't going to find one.
I think the D15 automatic only had the EGR - it's been a while so maybe I'm wrong on that.
Anyway, you can make one easy.
- Make a thin cardboard pattern with holes in the right place and the basic shape you want.
- Trace that on to some metal (thin metal bar stock from hardware store should work).
- Drill and cut. (Don't hold the metal with your hands when you drill... if it jams up then it spins and give you a nice cut in the finger.)
- Adhere the cardboard to the metal with 'form-a-gasket'.
- Put 'form-a-gasket' around the port on the manifold.
- Bolt it all down - done!

i disconnected mine and i didnt get a check engine light but for h series you do get one....... what you could do is upgrade to an si manifold or a y8 manifold, both dont have an egr
