Default Help!

i just dumped my stock exhaust for some new e bay headers, test pipe, and Tenrai catback. The car feels a little faster, but i am blowing out smoke like a damn train! It smells like im burning oil, but that wouldnt be caused by new exhaust. It is possible that i was burning a lot of oil before but my cat was just converting it all? Plus after i floor it and speu smoke, it sputters a bit when i try to drive normal. My car is a 91 Civic Si hatch and the exhaust is 2 1/4".

Try putting your old cat back on and see what happens.

i would assume that the oil burn off was occuring before.
have you ever taken off the air oil seperator on the back of your block? mine was blowing a **** load of smoke and then i cleaned it out (full of all kind of burnt up oil and nastys and not letting it do its job) and it definantly helped. i would give that a shot i guess.

-you can remove it from underneath the car and it shouldnt take more than like 45min to get it off, cleaned out, and back on depending on how nasty it is

- i would invest in a can of brake clean/carb clean and maybe some purple power/simple green if you are going to clean it out (its quite a mess)

Well there is a lot of oil smoke coming out. Even at idol. The weird thing is that it idols fine but when i try to take off then it starts sputtering. The longer i drive it the worse it gets. A friend suggested that my rings are bad, but that doesnt happen just all of the sudden.

Do you guys think it could be a tuning problem? Maybe im mistaking oil burn off for fuel burn off due to the bigger exhaust. Do you think a new o2 sensor would help?

well oil burning off and too much fuel coming out the *** end have very different scents. i dont think a new o2 is going to fix this problem your having. either your rings and/or valve seals are likely tizzoast.
