Default My trunk doesn't stay up - Help

I got a 2000 GS Integra, and when I open the trunk it doesn't hold up. I believe the hydrlic struts or whatever its called have gone bad. Does anyone know what parts I need to replace (most likely) and if theres any DIY on it?

it is your trunk shocks if they fall when you lift it up. get new shocks. they have it around for pretty cheap. dependin on where you look of course.

Most parts stores carry hood and liftgate struts, but no telling if they will have Integra-specific ones. You may have to special order them.

They're $63 each from Carland Acura down in Georgia.

I had the same problem a few months ago. I purchased a pair at Pep Boys for $60.00. You can also buy just one and it'll hold up the trunk as well if you wanna buy just one for now. It's cheaper off of ebay but decided not to go that route in case I wanted to return it.

Replace your trunk shocks and you'll be straight homie.

Great, i'm going to do that tommorrow. Are they pretty easy to replace, I mean pretty straight forward? I been using a 4-ft level from work to hold up my truck, and if it wasn't for the Type R wing, I would have nothing to hold the trunk from slaming really hard closed, which could damage the glass. So thumbs up for the Type R wing, and the great replys!

They are about $20 a piece @ Autozone if I remember correctly. Easy to replace.
