how can you tell if your h22 is a type S?

Default how can you tell if your h22 is a type S?

i just bought i jdm converted prelude with an imported h22 dropped in it. but i cant tell if its a type s or not. how can i tell?

The easiest way is to look at the valve cover. If it's red its a type s, if its black its not the type s. Assuming they haven't been painted.

don't rely on the color of the paint. don't count it being on a type s either.

From what the guys told me on honda tech on the bottom block on ur engine stamp it says h22a then on the bottom of that it has numbers if it starts wit 1..... then its just a regular h22a but if it starts with 4...... then you have a type s I asked this question before also
