Default Hood problem

When I was doing my swap recently, I removed the hood to make removal and replacement of the motor much easier. I just reinstalled the hood tonight, and after I closed it, I noticed it wasn't sitting right. So I go to open it, and the hood release cable snapped. I'd been having trouble with it for a while, so it wasn't a big surprise. Now I'm stuck though. How in the hell can I get my hood open without a cable? Obviously I have to get the hood open to replace the cable, but how do I do this? If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate the help.

u can chain it up from the bottom if u wanna do it bootlegged.. but thats temporary until u take it to a bodyshop or dealership or mechanic to ge it fixed.. or u can gu for the REAL hood pins.. the ones that actually hook-up onto the car.

You cant pull your bumper cover off with the hood slammed shut , there are 4 bolts holding it on at the top under your closed hood .

I'm not 100% sure where it broke. I pulled the release lever inside the car, and rather than the hood popping, the cable just kept pulling, and eventually I had the lever and about 12" or so of cable hanging down inside the car. It was already dark, so I pretty much just said "ef it, I'll work on it tomorrow".

Man I love honda-tech.
Yes you sure 100% can remove the front bumper off with the hood closed.
Here are the steps.
1 Remove the bumper turn signals
2 unbolt the bumper support from the frame ( two bolts inside the turn signal opening)
3 remove the 2 screws on each corner where the bumper meets the fender
4 remove 2 or so 10mm bolts at the bottom of the bumper ( under and behind the lip)
5 lift and pulll the bumper off the car.

Sorry, but you have to remove the bumper to open the hood.

Yeah, I knew you could remove the bumper with the hood closed. Done that about a dozen times give or take lol but I'm not in a flaming mood tonight so I was gonna let that slide. Guess I know what I'm doing this weekend......

That pic is actually incredibly helpful. It's actually more helpful than the diagrams in the manual.

The time my hood stuck,
I got underneath with a long hook tool and managed
to hit it where it pivots and it popped for me..

It helps to already know what you can't see...
So I looked at my other car and figured out the "mechanics" of it..
