Default HELP! a6 cam problem in d15 b1

ok so i swapped a d16a6 camshaft into my d15b1 last night and i drove it around on the stock d15 cam gear and it was acting like the timing was retarded(studered when you give it gas) so i just figured that that when i put the y7 cam gear on it would be fixed it only got worse and now when you press on the gas petal it wants to die and then starts revving......

what could it be?
retarded valve timing ?
ignition timing?

there is definately a timing issue when using the a6 cam in the d15. This also happens when putting a vtec head on a non-vtec d15 block. basically the shorter deck height of the d15 causes the timing changes.

the y7/y8 gear is supposed to fix the "half-tooth" timing error. maybe your belt slipped during the change or something. OR maybe you were given the wrong gear?

check D-series.org they have a ton of info in the FAQs about this.
