Hey guys. Well Im pretty new to hondaland but this post is for my brother, not me. But I cant answer him so Im wondering if you guys can shed some light. Our mom's going to buy him a 2004 civic from a good friend of hers. I know there are problems with the integras being stolen, I own one so he knows hondas/acuras are stolen A LOT. My question is does the 04 face the same security problems as the older civics and integras? I already know modding isnt big with 2004s. Not a big deal he's not into modding. But he does want a nice system rims, and maybe a few more cosmetic touches.
Again, main question is will he face the same security problems I face in my 94 integra?

And if anyone else has pics of any sick 04 civics post em so he can see what some nice ones look like. Ive not seen one 04 posted here or on h-t.

Mods if this should be moved to the cosmetic section due to the wantings pics then move it I dont care. Im just posting it here for my first question to be answered quickly.

 

em2's dont get stolen nearly as much as integras or em1's do, but that doesnt mean you should act like its not a possibilty, if hes looking for rims, and cosmetic stuff, rims are 4x100 just like with non itr integras, and as far as looking good, best thing imo is to do a mild drop, with lip, and skirts, and rims... If you want to see some nice cars, look in the pic thread, or you can look at specific builds to see what is available... good luck man...

 

even if our cars aren't stolen often, it doesn't mean they're not broken into...

thieves don't need to take the entire car to get what they want. any nice mods on the car will increase the chance of getting broken into. if you don't want your stuff stolen, install an alarm or other theft deterrent system.

 

They don't get stolen into as much, but it still doesn't take away the paranoia for me.. here are some pics of my 02 sedan and my brothers 04 magnesium metallic coupe..his is still fairly stock, but he only got it two weeks ago..

 

The only reason they aren't that big of a problem is because all the 16 year olds can't quite afford them yet, so they don't need to rob pieces from others. Give it a few more years so the prices can drop to meet their part-time salaries..

 

For, what I ment about the security problem is when I tell him about an automatic integra that was stolen mid-day from a mall parking lot with your average lip and rotas and call it a day. And I know how easily it is to steal a teg, its like 1-2-3, I could tell someone over the phone how to get their hood open for a jump if they lost their keys, you can do that you can steal it in minutes. Im wondering if the 04s are as easily stolen, I understand modding isnt a big thing with this gen so not many companies have parts circulating the the teg or older model civics. Basically, we all know your asking for trouble if you head down to hollywood and park your teg overnight. Is it the same way with this gen? And like I said my brothers not into mods so he'll throw a system and rims on the car and be done. Probably some rotas or konig, something cheap. So Im not worried about a thief catching his eye on some baller part, Im worried about the thieves that make a living off jacking civics to sell the motor and tranny and leave everything else on.
