Default Gas Questionsssss . . .

ok so im puttin in my new block into my integra cause i spun a bearing in my old one .
i got an LS block with b16 pistons & i was wondering if im gonna need to switch to premium gas or medium since its higher compression pistons now . . . any suggestions ? thanks honda-tech's.

It all depends on the compression ratio, but you should get a tune after everything is done in order to get optimum performance...Good luck!

& my compression ration will proll be somewhere around 10 suttin . more then usual .

are there going to be any other significant mods? What ECU are you running?

Most people would run at least 91 octane in their Civic Si's, so, it is probably a safe assumption that you are going to need to do the same.

Now, on the flip side of that, the L15 in the Honda Fit has a CR of 10.4:1. And I always ran 87 octane in my Fits.

www.c-speedracing.com has a compression ratio calculator.

Stock B18B has a CR of 9.2:1. Changing to B16 pistons raises that to 10.8:1. Without a knock sensor, you should definitely use at least 91 octane.

In the event that your compression is "somewhere around 10 suttin", you should probably use 91 as recommended by Honda for its engines running compression in the same neighborhood.
