Icon2 Tranny Questions?

Drove down my street everything was fine. got to a stop sign put it in nuetral then put it in first to take off and i just rolled. so took it out of gear then back in and nothing!

Any Ideas?? Everything was fine before that tranny has oil and clutch is not that old. But is a xtd ebay clutch

Sounds like ur clutch failed on ya. Next time dont buy ebay brand.

It definitely sounds like your clutch failed.

Next time dont buy ebay brand.
Not all things bought on eBay are junk nor are there 'eBay brand' clutches. eBay does not make a clutch.


There are numerous forums across the automotive world that have experienced failure and problems with the XTD clutches. I would bet yours failed on you as well.

I'm pretty sure its widley known that ebay brand refers to the junk, low quality, no name, cheap stuff that can only be sold on ebay. XTD happens to be one of those. I never said anything about everything on ebay being junk.

Thats what im thinking also....but with no warning?? Not once did it slip...I was actually really satisfied with it.

Well based off experience, I would say to get a Daiken made Exedy clutch kit. I got one on ebay from Gripforce and all has been well, so far. Gripforce also makes their own clutches that ppl say suck.

Could I just replace the clutch disc or do i need the pressure plate also??
Im on a budget. WHo is'nt these days.

I would go ahead and replace both. Odds are that your pressure plate is covered in hot spots. Be sure to have your flywheel surfaced also.

Yeah sound like a better idea. does it matter if it is an 8 pound aluminum flywheel?

It shouldn't unless it has been surface a few times before then I would look into a replacement disk.

OK yeah its never been resurfaced its not old at all thats why i was surprised my clutch went out!
