Talk about days, coordinate with others, talk about tracks, drama, tires, lap times, lines, etc.
First order of business:
Pick a day for the 1st semi-official /26-West trackday aka "The Billy TD" for the triumphant 2 wheeled return of Quiks66 from injury.

Can anyone do a Friday? The 13th of March is the day after my birthday and that might work. But if you guys are too stuperstitious then we can look for another day. In general, Saturdays and Sundays are best, obviously.
Fridays are a 50/50 possibility for me - I'm either working or not. I'm free on most weekends, except the important ones (Thanksgiving, Mother's Day, etc).
I think this thread should be renamed the 2009 /26 California trackday thread... =P
My preference is for March or later - January and February are still pretty cold. Remember when it snowed over at WSIR during a trackday?

here's my tentative 09 schedule:
3/1 BW
4/19 SOWS
5/2 WSIR
5/23 and 24 Pahrump
6/13 and 14 Pahrump
7/25 WSIR
10/10 Chuckwalla
11/28 WSIR

Assuming that my employment status remains as it is today, I think 3/1 BW is workable as is 5/2 WSIR.
I promised the RC that she'll spend the remainder of her days on the track since she loaned the YZF some of her spare parts

3/1 BW is very possible for me. I hate the cold, but at least I can stand near you guys to warm up. winkwinknudgenudge.
Of course, that depends on if I have a bike at that point. Or more precisely, which bike I happen to have. Thinking about selling the 6R already.
Other than 3/1, I'm thinking:
4/17 - WSIR / TrackDaZ
5/9 - Auto Club / Fastrack

so your first track day you have to take that 100 dollar class? im probably going to try it out a few times. just wondering what ill have to do.
What $100 class? Which org are you referring to?
A n00b class can be helpful, but sometimes you have to bring up questions/problems you're having on the track directly to the instructors. Such as, "I keep blowing Turn Twenty-Five...any suggestions?" Sometimes they'll do a lead-follow where you watch what they do, then you get a chance to try it. The level of instructors varies from org to org.

but if you don't want to take it, that's ok too. if you're going to be there on 3/1 you can pit with me and my friends and get some input, especially on track riding the 675.

ive rode with some guys that do lots of track days out in indiana. i can say ive progressed quite a bit and im one of the more advanced riders among the people i know here in cali. im one of those people who just needs to get out there and do a few laps to get used to it. and could use some good advice. im in indiana right now and wont be back for a month or two so ill probably be going later on twards the summer. what all do i need to safety wire and stuff like that? you think ill be good on 2cts? and what track should i start on? streets of willow or button willow?

Haha...i'll be there. Right now I'm stressing about having my twofiddy pass tech for WSMC. If all goes according to plan, I WILL be attending the 3/1 TD. I'll know very soon. Thanks for waitin up, Herb
