Default Dyno'd My EP Today!

Today I did a base run at the local shop (Intec Racing) just because I was curious what I would get and I made 162.6whp and 136.1wtq. I only have an AEM sri, a DCRH, and a custom 2.25in mid pipe to stock muffler. I was hoping for lik 150, 155ish but I'm pleased with what I made. Now I'm curious to hear what you guys are making and what I can expect with a little more work.

Nice numbers man. Will be anxious to see the numbers on the k24 spaz. Do you have the N20 installed?

no we want to know what the N/A engine is throwing down and get a good tune off that. Then sometime after I get back from mexico I'll start her upgrades.

What dyno was this on? I threw down the same numbers on a Dynojet w/ an SRI and T1R midpipe.

Is this with the K20a3? must be a dyno jet since they tend to read a little bit higher...

Yeah, a3 and it was a Dyno Jet. I was thinking that too, about them being a little bit higher because of the dyno. Either way, I know I'm in the ball park for 160whp and I'm happy with that.

time to take it to the track...

I dynoed 153whp on a dynapack with Injen SP Cai, Comptech Shorty Header and HKS Hi-Power Exhaust... but once the OBX RH goes in, hopefully I'll be looking at 160 WHP...

It's a k20a3, and the only mods are an AEM short ram, DCRH, I did my own 2.25 mid-pipe no res. to stock muffler. This was on a dyno jet. No K-Pro, but hopefully sometime early next year I'll get it, but just to get something sooner I'm contemplating on getting the reflash. I'll post the dyno sheet a little later today. I have to take a pic of it. Hopefully I'll see a good improvement on my quarter mile time. The last time I ran at the track I got a 15.7 and I was bone stock with some pretty bald stock michelins haha.

These are kinda crappy cell phone pics. Hopefully you're able to read the graph. The 1st run was a 4th gear pull, and the 2nd run was in 3rd gear and I made just barely less in 3rd.

Definately some good results. Most guys are barely hitting those numbers even with a reflash.

I think I might just end up getting kpro sooner than I planned. The next time I dyno my car it'll be when I tune kpro with a rbc and maybe a cai. I'm hoping to hit 185whp if not more with a good tune.

You're about to embark on a whole new journey of hurt and pain. Just please make sure you're prepared for that.

At the stage you're at now, you have a very nice driving car.

You can dump a hell of a lot of money into a K20A3 and end up feeling that a large part of it was wasted.

George is correct. Are you ready to spend $2000+ for 10 more HP?

Your next best bang for the $$ will be a Hondata reflash. After that, it just gets expensive with less HP return.

True, but mainly this is all just before I go boost. So even if I don't reach the numbers that I want while I'm N/A, I'll make them up with the turbo. The more power I have before the kit the better. Less boost and stress I'll have to put in on the car. My goal is only 300whp maybe a lil over. Any more power than that isn't necessary for a DD and what I expect from my car. I've only spent about $300 on the 3 performance engine mods that I have (sri, dcrh,b-pipe), so I don't feel $ wasted yet haha. Thanks for the good words from everyone. I'll have better numbers yet. Oh and on the side, I already have a boosted LS EG to keep my lead foot happy in the mean time and a B16 DA to fulfill my vtec needs haha.

Well, it doesn't quite work like that. An Ep3 that makes 150 at the wheels might make more hp boosted than one that made 160 at the wheels. Boost changes everything.
