Default Problem after installing Tein Pillowball mounts

Well I just got done adding Tein Pillowball mounts to my Tokico Illumina shock and spring set up and now the upper control arms are hitting the shock tower. I'm not sure what I can do to correct this. Will a special allignment fix this or am I going to have to bash/cut the shock towers up?

It's for a 4th gen Prelude, but I'm sure anyone who has used this product can help.

Upper control arms hit the shock towers due to low ride height. Changing the upper shock mounts shouldn't affect anything, unless your ride height changed somehow.

We're kinda stumped as to how it happened, but they're hitting now and were not hitting before.

i dont realy see a point for you to be using tein mounts. take em off if theyre giving you problems...

but im guessing the rubber grommet that goes on top of the spring normally under the stock top hat is no longer used with the tein top hat, thus lowering the car more. or something like that.

If you're hitting only because that rubber spring insulator is gone, and you weren't hitting before, well then you were within a couple of millimeters of hitting before anyway.

an extra 1/4" or so of spring/shock travel/position can translate into a lot more knuckle/wheel travel/position.

I was just wondering if this was a common problem and if someone had a good idea on how to fit it other than put the stock ones back on.

a spacer? like using the stock rubber grommets again??

besides, you really shouldnt be using a machined top hat without something like adjustable race springs anyway... i mean, i guess you could, and you certainly can, but like... whats the point man? toss those soft springs and put some GC on.

Apparently this is never a viable option for those idiots whose cars must be sitting an inch off the pavement with tires 2" into the fender. Yet they always want others to think of solutions to fixed their self made problems.

The car is just lowered an inch and a half, no need to come in to threads to be a dick.

If your car is only lowered a little bit and your upper arms are hitting, your shocks or springs are way too soft or you are driving over some horrible roads.
