Cool vid, I always wanted to be a bike messenger in NYC

But that is nothing compared to what goes on in a big southamerican city and the motocouriers. Imagine doing all that you saw on that vid, but on motorbikes.

Heck, part of it looks like my daily commute LOL.

I like the version of that vid I saw a few months ago a little better. I think the music used works better. The title of the vid is "Bike Messengers Are On Crack" haha.

don't know who it was, but it seemed to be a checkpoint.

Hey, I thought motorcyclists were supposed to hate bicyclists. . .

[edit] - Oh, and also ... why the hell are so many cars in NYC big sedans or SUVs??

I was a competitive cyclist in the early to late 80's... I don't see anything exciting in that video. Just a bunch of inner city gubbers that couldn't hold a candle to a real cyclist

I walked out of my marriot on 44th and broadway counted 40 escalade all within my view radius maybe that helps explain it? All you see times square are cabs and escalades exec taxi's.

I'm all for bicycling, its a great way to get around, save gas, save the environment, shrink that carbon foot print, yadda yadda yadda.

But seriously, those guys really make it look bad. Bad as in negative. Motorists, pedestrians, bus drivers, and etc freakin' hate them. If they're going to share the road with the motoring public, they should follow the rules. I'm surprised none of them got hit, or at least it wasn't in the video. Can you imagine the accidents they could've caused in the wake of their reckless riding? Its irresponsible and gives bikers a bad name.

With the cost of parking, insurance, and general cost of living in big cities - a big car isn't much extra on the whole over a small car. Kinda like how a supersizing is pennies more.

I'd like to see someone open their door to dump out coffee at the wrong time...

it wasn't an autograph signing....this video is from a race, where you mostly likely had to have your manifests signed at each checkpoint.

alleycat races usually involve riding to different checkpoint either pre-conceived or made revealed after going to the event. then the event organizers sign everyone's lil map to show that the racers have been there.
