I have a 2003 Honda Accord 2.0l i-vtec Sport.
Recently the engine management light came on whilst driving, having taken the car to a Honda garage, The description for the code was VTEC Oil Pressure Switch Circuit Low Voltage.
They then replaced a sensor and tried a different vtec solenoid, which didnt help either.
They then said that they checked their logs and they had a type r civic with a similar fault before, and the way to fix this issue was to replace the timing chain and tensioners. (as it was stretched)
I have now had the timing chain and tensioners replaced by a mechanic i no, and there is a different fault code.

P2646- rocker arm actuator system performance/ or stuck off..

Can anybody help with this fault???
Would be much appreciated..

 

If the solenoid has been checked and replced there maybe an electrical system issue related to that vtec solenoid. This can be anywhere from the ecu to the solenoid itself. I doubt this code is related to the timing chain

Potential failure modes:
• valve stuck open / closed
• valve open circuit
• valve short to ground
• Rocker arm failure
• Rocker shaft location pin failure
• ECU output circuit failure

 

Ummm, I didn't know honda put 2liter motors in the newer accords.......
