Default D16y8 OBD0 Questions

I am in the process of swapping a D16y8 into a 91 Civic DX chassis. I tried searching for several hours on several different Honda forums and websites but I cannot find the information I need. I would like to run an OBD0 ecu such as a PM6 with Turboedit and use the 12v spot on the ecu originally for the A/C clutch relay to activate VTEC. I would need to convert from DPFI to MPFI and which distributor should I use? Is there anything else I would need? Also are there any websites that would have wiring diagrams for the swap? Would I be better off converting to OBD1? Do you have any suggestions or other options? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

well i have the swap done on my 90 crx si i used all the original mpfi and stayed with the obd0 distributor and notched one of the ears to make it work, still using the original pm6 unmodified, and to open vtec i used the msd rpm activator switch to open at 4900 rpm, upgrade the fpr to that from a 92-00 fpr from a sohc vtec motor and thats about it, any questions feel free to ask, what tranny are you gonna run?

Im using Hasports cable to hydraulic master cylinder adapter to use the D16y8 EX trans. I would rather not use your setup with the MSD rpm activator because I believe that without tuning this would cause the engine to run lean when VTEC is activated, am I right?

Yeah, it will, I've thought about you mentioned before, its supposed to be a viable option, i've also been told you can run an automatic PM6 and use the circuitry for the automatic transmission lockup solenoid to run the vtec solenoid (nice if you happen to have A/C) or you you could run a chipped OBD0 PR3 which might arguably be the best solution.

Even with the fpr, this still would not be as efficient as having the ecu control the fuel maps based on the engines rpm, or am I wrong?

I believe you are correct, in fact, I know you are correct, only it would be the PS9 ecu which is the automatic counterpart of the PM6 ecu. Pin A8 on the PM6 ecu supplies 12v power to the auto lockup solenoid, which I am sure could be wired directly to the VTEC solenoid.
