Default Internals of 94-97 headlights any different than 98-01?

I could have sworn that I read a long time ago that the only difference between the 94-97 headlights and the 98-01 headlights was the exterior lens cover. Is that true?

I just need to replace one of the inner, reflective pieces of my headlight, and it seems that 94-97 headlights are both more available and cheaper than their newer counterparts.

There is no difference between the internals of 94-97 and 98-01 headlights. However, both the front lens and rear case DO have differences, and I'm not sure if you can simply slap a 98-01 lens onto a 94-97 rear case.

At one point when I still had halogen projectors, I had the internals from a 98-01 headlight in my 94's passenger side headlight, and the driver side headlight was all original. Light output, beam pattern, cutoff, etc. from both projectors was EXACTLY the same.

Thanks!

I won't need the lens cover or the gray plastic housing, just the piece on the right:

So it looks like I should be good to go.
