I have rust on the inside of my gsr blades where the lug nuts sit. the calipers have also seen better days. how do i get the rust off the rims and calipers without messing anything up?

 

i have the same problem, i was gonna go over the rust with scotch brite, then paint over my disks with some flat black

 

what product are you going to use for the flat black finish?

 

you can paint the disk? i was under the impression that was something you couldn't paint.

 

you can paint them. I usually tape up the pad contact area and spray if I for some reason dont buy plated rotors (gold look and dont corrode and look bad) even though a bunch of people spray the whole thing. Sure the pads scrape it right off, but I just cant get myself to do that thinking I will contaminate my new HAWK pads or something. Maybe I am just **** about that stuff.

 

use steel wool to remove the rust from the wheel ledges. my fat 5's are the same way and i'm eventually going to polish out the wheels and clean up the rusty area.
