Default Bogarts and GSR Brakes, spacer question

I am borrowing a set of 24.5" Bogarts from a friend and he has a CX so he doesnt need a spacer to run them but I am pretty sure I do with my GSR Brakes, does anybody have an idea of what size spacer I need to get? Does the spacer need to be attached to the wheel or can I just center it while tightening the lugs? TIA

I believe that you need a 1/2 spacer. The spacer does not need to be apart of the wheel, just pick up some regular old spacers and you will be fine, just remember to use the correct lugnuts.

great thanks miller! I already have an email to Bogart and the guy is being a pest, I need lugs too and his reply was "tell me what size spacer you need, and then I will price the lugs" followed by "send us the wheels so we can properly attach the spacers to the wheels" lol I am in a hurry to get to the track before it closes and he is dragging this situation out.

reason being, the bogart spacer is either bolted to the wheel ( 2 piece) or welded to the wheel like they are on my RT4's.

i am pretty sure my rt4's are a 1/4 spacer. they are up in philly right now.

ben you should be fine with spacers from the boys. just get a straight edge and see how much the caliper bracket hangs over the rotor hat.

mikey I dont have them in my hands at this moment, guess I should take a trip tomorrow and grab them and measure. They are brand new and not screwed/tube'd do you know of someone reputable and local to do the job? I know they can be run w/o screws/tubes but I am kind of paranoid for one I have never used slicks before and I have no cage and I am pretty sure I definately need one...lol

mine are tubed but not pinned.

looking for someone to pin them? i did my t type wheels a long time ago, havent done the bogarts yet. i may actually be selling them, they are 13 x 7 may go with 8's.

it isnt that hard. rhodes may do it, but they will probably charge you.

I hear they bend super easy so the tubes are probably a good investment.

i just did this on my car. You can get away with not using spacers by grinding the calipers a little bit. But you need the shorter shank lug nuts to not use a spacer, which you should have since your friend used them. I went ahead and used the half inch spacers that came with the wheels cause i only have the longer shank lug nuts. But also to use the spacers, you have to have extended wheel studs...

if you half the shorter shank lug nuts, i would just grind the caliper the little bit it needs. Just did this on my other friends civic...

My friend has never used these wheels, he doesnt have the lugs and already uses Weld Magnums . I went and picked them up yesterday and they already had a 1/2" spacer mounted to the back of them so everything worked out. I contacted Ricky from Bogart and he is sending me a set of 12mm 1.5 x 7.50 lugs so hopefully they are the right ones.

Closed on Fridays now, according to the site its just this Saturday weather permitting and next Saturday weather permitting. I probably wont have the lugs until next week, and I have been waiting on an oil block adaptor that I ordered Nov 20th from MFactory and it still is not here yet, which is holding me from starting the car. If the part comes tomorrow ill start the car and make a quick pull, if its all good I might head to cecil with my BFG's for the hell of it.
