i just picked up some rims for $80 the paint on the rims is pealing off need some ideas about repainting them. i need help with the sand paper or something to get the paint off, also what kind of paint and how many coats thinking about going with the same color silver that there already painted with or something close to it

 

Aircraft stipper and send it to a powercoating shop for proper painting.

Cheap way how I would do it not caring is aircraft stipper, 120grid sand start, primier, and paint.

 

alrite what type of paint anykind of spray paint or a special kind how much is powercoating

 

I would start with 80 grit move up to 180, then up to 320. You than can spray primer wait about 10 min after spraying the primer then spray your top coat and then clear or let the primer dry and wet sand with 600 grit and then spray your top coat and then clear

 

yeah when i painted my rims on my si.. i cleaned them really good laid primer on them and after sprayed just one coat on them they stood for long time.. i used the engine painting 500degree so it wont peel off in the sun..
