you have to loop the wire that goes to your coil in a constant circuit and run a internal coil distributor. let me know if you need some help with it. we are located in anaheim.

Why wouldn't you convert the motor to external coil? I'm assuming you're going from an H22a1 or a4 to H22a... I could be totally wrong, but can't you just switch the caps off the dizzy and mount your external coil?

All you have to do is use a 30 amp blade fuse to jump two wires on the external coil harness. The fuse fits perfectly. I did this bc my old external coil setup was alot older than the internal coil dizzy. So I swaped them.

This is what i did. I also wrapped it in electrical tape so the fuse won't fall out.

you don't have to cut any wires... and if he wants to convert to internal, let him. External is too much of a hassle having to find a place to mount and buying extra parts when you don't even need it.. 30 amp fuse to convert to internal, that's it.

to the OP.. don't let these people sway you from converting. I went through the same thing with everyone trying to tell me that i should stick to external. It's really simple, although mine was a bit harder because i had a bad coil. good luck.

I figured out how to Jump the wire with a basic wire jump. But after several years I pulled it out of the harness clip & it was all crusty and dated. So I did a an Awesome search on HT and found out to put a Fuse in the connector. Ignition feels muccchh better now. Man I'v been missing out--- I found the missing power. from a fuse.

Yeah mine ran alot smoother and cure a little hesitation i would get low rpm. With the internal coil since the old external coil/dizzy had 206K miles.

They say that the external coils are more reliable tho.

It's really not that hard to replace the internal coil. As long as you can turn your crank and take out like 6 screws you're good to go.

The reason why they went from exteral to internal coils was due to the ammount of heat coming directly off the block. Theres more heat hitting an internal coil. A

An external coil is located further from the engine.
