defrosters + trunk swap questions
-my old trunk rusting out hard (will be repainting it later)
- just changed to jdm itr trunk
do you ppl feed the oem wire harnesses thru the new trunk w/ a clothes hanger or something? the process is very hard and annoying...
also i would like to know if ONE defroster works?
because i have noticed my old oem usdm trunk AND the jdm trunk both have the left defroster by itself
lmk thanssk

i want to know if one defroster works because on dc trunks the left defroster is just ONE wire GROUNDED ON THE TRUNK and has a connector piece to the metal defroster clip.
this left wire is connected to nothing else.

I swapped my trunk a couple months back for the same reasons as you, and I did use a coat hanger to fish the wires through. It was a HUGE PITA, but worth it. I just taped the wires to the coat hanger, and eventually they came through.
As for the wiring, I don't exactly remember how I re-ran the wires, but I do know both my rear wiper, and rear defroster are still functional.

i dont have a 3rd brake light or a wiper w/ the new trunk now, and got it all fixed last night. relief!
i didnt test the defrosters yet but i did plug the right side back and just grounded it to some random open threaded hole available.
