dizzy help
ok so i pulled my factory di5b2 out of my 91 hx hatch, and threw in my fully built d16y7, motor is in and most everything else is wired up and ready to go but im having trouble wiring this obd1 dizzy up, i cut the 2 pin plug off the obdo dizzy and wired it onto the obd1 dizzy with solder and heat shrink, got to the larger plug, which is a 5pin plug on the obdo plug but a 7 wire on the obd1 dizzy, all wires are color matched up til now, what do i do with the 2 extra wires im goign to have left over? i assume i need to extend them behind the firewall and pin them into my ecu jumper but would just like confirmation of this and would like to know which pins they need to go in, thanks ahead of time peeps!
It looks like you're working with your stock d15b2 wiring harness, so it wasn't set up for multiport (hope you know what that is). Anyway, if you had an Si harness for your car then it would have a 7 pin connector just like the obd1 dizzy (it would be a different shape of course but would have the 7 wires you need none the less) and you would be good to go. The D15b uses dpfi (or throttle body injection) and so it doesn't need the crank position sensor, but for your mpfi (or port fuel injected) y7 you need the sensor ran back to your ecu so it can run the injectors properly. Like you said extend the wires and just look in the FAQ section of this forum and you'll find the wiring diagrams for the obd0 si ecu that you'll need to find the correct pin. The obdo si ecu is a pm6, but since you're using obd1 you'd need to look for a p28 diagram if you decide to not go through the jumper harness.
exactly what i was looking for, reps for what im worth, and yes it is a dpfi harness that i will be converting to mpfi tomorrow, another quick question, i'm going to be running RC550cc PL9 injectors, do they require a resistor box? i know some do and some dont just depends on the ohm's at which the injector operates. thanks again for the info!
Sorry man I don't know the answer to your injector question, I'd call RC and see what they say. I've heard that the injectors from Z6s don't need the resistor box, but A6 injectors do. I'm not sure about y8 injectors. Dont think that'll help you, but something I recently learned.
I would look up the diagram for the obd0 ecu and run the wires to the obd0 side of the jumper harness. Would be cleaner and if for whatever reason you need to go back to obd0 it'll be that much easier.
