car randomly shuts of while driving???

Default car randomly shuts of while driving???

so heres my problem..im just driving down the road and the check engine light comes on, the car shuts of for a sec and then compression starts back up and the check engine light goes back off WTF?? i have no idea where to start. any insite??

Car driving fine then just shuts off and starts back up is usually spark related.

well wen it happens again try nabbing the engine light, then see if it has sperk and fuel

check for a burn mark on your hood right underneath the positive cable of your battery, and make sure you have your battery holder tight

sperk?

If it's a fuel problem, the car will spit and sputter before shutting off.

does ur cluster lighst go out ? i had a similar problem on my em1 it turned out to be the steering column key harness . the plug that pluged into the fuse box was loose replaced it for like 60 bucks.

no the cluster lights dont shut off....the car just shuts off and then come back on

did u check ur battery terminals maybe they have corrosion build up .

Could be a grounding issue too. Check your ecu ground.

If you can, I'd try running the car with a known good dizzy for awhile and see if it's ok.
I had similiar problem, turned out to be bad coil on dizzy.

Good call. I had intermittent issues with my car hesitating then dying and turning back on when my distributor went out...I completely forgot about that.

I'd see if you could borrow one from a friend just to try it out before you fork out the money for something you don't need.

If you don't plan on turning over 8k rpm, I really don't think performance is needed but it's your call.
