Default Difference between i-VTEC and VTEC?

Sorry for the n00b question, but my friend is lookin into the RSX S and we are just trying to find out as much about it as possible. Also, how has the S responded to aftermarket modifications like intake, exhaust, etc. Finally, about how long is the breakin period for it when bought brand new? TIA

i-VTEC has a nifty gadget called VTC on the intake cam which can "advance or retard cam timing infinitely".

break in periods are (almost) always 1000 miles.

The car is a very good car and its decently fast. As far as mod's are concerened there are quite a few now. Its only been out maybe a year and there is alot of aftermarket out for it. It seems that once you open the air flow up on the K20 motor it gets some decent numbers..Some companies have shown dyno's with numbers around 15-18 hp gains to the wheels from minor mods like intake and exhaust, but I dont really believe those numbers. The latest was a 18.2 hp gain to the wheels from a injen intake.. uumm.. sure...Kind of hard to believe.. But you never know. But other then that I have also heard of major gains just from tunning the ECU from Hondata.. But in all the K20 motor has alot of potential, and its still the baby of the group. In time the k2o will give everyone competition.
