Icon2 about to crazy glue brake pad shims!

so I ****ing bought these 'duralast' (built to fail ****ing autozone) brakee pads and the first pair had the shims put on already but they kept coming off when I clipped them inside the caliper...then I returned them and the second pair like had an adhesive strip and you put them on and bent the little flaps over...yeah well the same ****ing thing happened...the only thing I can think of is if i crazy glue them the heat from the brakes will melt the glue but wouldn't it do the same for the adhesive that doesn't adhere anyways!

should I just return them and get better pads! Help!

tha hell? I've been using AutoZone pads for years now, and they NEVER come with shims. I've just been swapping the original OEM brake pad shims over from pad to pad and never had a problem.

Except the last time I forgot to remove the shims from the old pads when swapping them out under warranty, so I have no shims now on my rear pads. on me.

ummm yes and the car stops just fine thanks. When they wear out, I get another set for free since they have a lifetime warranty (for whatever reason, oh well). I haven't paid for a set of brake pads in over 6 years and 150K+ miles.

i hate shims, iv stopped using them, iv seen on customers car where they fell off the pad, and actually cut the whole front of the rotor off from rubbing against it.

if you bend the tabs hard enough they will snap/lock onto the pad and wont move.

Honestly, your first problem was buying duralast pads for the Acura. Give your car a little more love than that.

Please explain how using AutoZone pads is somehow less "good" for the car than other pads? The car stops every bit as good as it did from the factory.

I can't stand how people hate on certain parts simply because of the name that's on them. If they work well, have a good price, and are readily available locally, then what the hell is the problem?

Duralast is typically a poor brand, that is all. I'd much rather use OE, or Hawk pads, and therefore only use that stuff on mine. I guess i usually look for quality over cheapness. Just a preference thing.
