Ok well when I bought my EM1 it had an EX cluster. I'm guessing the old owner sold the cluster before he sold the car. I finally got an Si cluster and was wondering how to make the mileage match the EX cluster. I know the mileage is right on the EX cluster cause there's a sticker on the back of it saying it was changed by a Honda mechanic or some such crap.

Money is really tight so I can't afford to have Honda do it for me again. So what's the easiest way to make the mileage match?

 

You will probably damaged it if you've never done it before.

Take it to a speedo shop.

Odometer fraud is a big deal in some states too

 

I don't know of a speedo shop in Podunk Iowa. I'm sure I can handle this if someone tells me how.

 

It should not be posted... Every time it is, its reported and taken down because of all the shady punks that frequent the forum.
If its legit, you can find a speedo shop in the phone book. I guarantee there is one within range.
If you really dont have one, which I doubt, you can probably figure it out if you look at it long enough. If not...sorry.

 

It's really simple to roll the mileage on a 96-00 Civic. Just take it apart and look at it. I'm sure you'll figure it out.

TIP: Make sure all the numbers line up.

 

just write the correct milage on the friggin cluster and get it professionaly done when you have the money.

 

are you trying add miles or take them off?

 

Rolling back. My car sat for 4 years while I was in and out of the hospital so it has pretty low miles. This Si cluster has 130000 miles on it.

Can someone PM me how to do it?

 

I take it you have 2 clusters (one in the car now and the other waiting to go in).......so why not practice on one of them then when you get it right, you can make the adjustments you need to the new cluster.

 

I have someone who wants to buy it. He has a hatch with a CTR cluster. Well he wants to put it back to stock to sell it bit doesn't have a cluster for it. He had to use his stock one for parts and threw the rest away. I was hoping to make some money off it. Would a cluster from a 90 accord have the same style odometer as an EM1?

And the only place here that ever did speedo's stopped doing them. They had one tech that did it and he left so they don't fuch with it anymore. So there is no place here that does it.

take it to a junk yard. my friend had this samething done at a junk yard. they may know..

 

OMG IT'S NOT ILLEGAL IN ANY STATE TO DO THIS. it IS however illegal to fraudulently roll the odometer back to 100,000 if the car had 180,000. That is the only time it is illegal. WHY do people get their panties in a bunch when you do something like this? IT IS ONLY ILLEGAL IF YOU ARE TRYING TO LIE ABOUT THE MILEAGE TO GAIN PROFIT ON THE VIHICLE. All he wants to do is match his new cluster to the actual mileage on the vehicle which is what SHOULD be done every time you swap the cluster.

 

Sure, he might want to do it to match the mileage of the chassis, but (1) not everyone who reads this will be doing it to make it match the chassis and (2) he could be lying too.

In the end, we're possibly supplying information to scammers, which could potentially put the site at fault in some way.

 

Sorry...i dont know the local and federal laws on this. I'm going to play it safe and lock it. I hope you figure out what you need to do...
