what are some signs of clutch slipping?
i mean i can somewhat bark second
and every now and then ill get an occasional churp into third but most of the time it sounds like it bogs down and then it takes off?
when i first got the car back in feb i would hit second at like 7900 and they would squal but now its different i know barking gears isnt much for some people but i love it and i wanna bark em haha
so how could i accomplish this?

if you want your car to bark buy a dog to keep in your car. other then that the clutch will chatter when it is close to its end and you'll have to "slip" the clutch more on take off.

Under hard acceleration you will feel the clutch slipping. I don't know exactly how to describe it, though you will know it when you feel it. If you are still able to get a bunch of wheel spin under hard acceleration in 1st gear then your clutch probably isn't slipping.

watch your tranny under hard launches. I killed my tranny trying to do a second gear chirp. It sounded like the tranny hit the pavement and spat out the other end. That was in a vw through

Here is how I would test:

Get up to 55mph in 5th gear
Mash the gas to the floor.

If the car starts to accelerate instantly you are good to go.

If you hear the engine rev a little bit before the car starts to
accelerate than your clutch is starting to slip. But trust me when
it really starts to go you will know.

another check you can do...while sitting at a stop, disengage the clutch place your car in 3rd, apply the parking brake, rev up to about 2k rpm and slowly release the clutch until it engages..the car should stall instantly

Edit-yea i completly miswrote this test earlier...

huh???
try the 55mph test and you should be golden. It sounds to me like your clutch is becoming worn, but hasn't started severely slipping quite yet. A clutch will have all kinds of varying degrees of wear. My 94 accord w/ 200k miles felt like it still had the factory clutch installed. If I shifted fast into second there would sometimes be some hesitation...like a braaaaaawwww, catch ..then you're off. Take it easy on her and you should be for another year or two. I know 'barking' gears might sound cool to you, but its bad for your drivetrain.

hahahahah best thread ever... another good way to check is while your doing like 20-30mph throw it in 5th and give it gas... if your car goes "vrrrrrrrrrrooooooooooooooooooooooooom" im willing to bet its slipping, if it just kinda bogs and goes slow your fine yo.

the reason why this test works (so i've been told) is because under a light load in a higher gear the clutch is going to have to work harder. so if its bad it will just do nothing but slip. when my clutch went out in my last car it would work fine until i was in higher gears ex: 4th/5th slipped.

drive the car and start off in 3rd gear and if the rpm matches the speed then your okay.

i'd try that. youll see your rpms go up but your mph wont go up, that is a sign of your clutch goin out.

looked at this thread as im pretty confidend my clutch is starting to slip fairly badly in my DA9 also...

Sometimes when trying to take off, usually when taking off reasonably quickly, the car revs but doesnt move for a sec... You can hear it rev and you have taken your foot off the clutch and it doesnt move "right away". Then suddenly it grabs and takes off.

Is this clutch slippage?
