Default rpm needle " stickin/stepped" what could be the problem?

have no clue what it is, nothing else is wrong with the car, original cluster, removed once about a year ago to remove alarm/ fix **** thives decided to break for me.

rpm needle started sticking just recentley.

IIRC rpm s calculated off the distributor in these series motors.

so wheels would have nothing to do w/ it but they are not stock accord wheels. if that is needed.

99%, you need another speedo if the needle is sticking above 0 MPH.
