RallyCross. Any advice?
I'll be trying my first RallyCross in a few weeks. I'm a long time autocrosser, but this will be pretty different.
Any advice? Thanks. I'll have 14" Blizzacks on.

go out and have fun. these guys may be able to help u out. i-club.com
SOLOef had a great suggestion of checking in with the i-club crowd - they were out in force last weekend for the RallyCross at Thunderhill. We had a blast.
You could also check out the San Francisco region of the SCCA. They are planning a Rally School and RallyCross weekend at Thunderhill in November. They are also hoping to fit in another RallyCross up there between now and then.

Make sure you over inflate your tires so that they don't "roll off" on any of the turns. I usually have them set at 32 psi for street drving, but put them up to 36 psi for RallyCross.
Where and when is this RallyCross that you will be doing?

Yes, I second that inflation tip. My buddy worked the ThunderHill RallyCross event you mentioned. He said like 3 of the WRX's (which composed 95% of the entrants) had the tire bead unseat from the rim. Tire pressures are much more critical when digging around in dirt. The tire/rim can just dig in and plant, as opposed to a paved surface where there is a gradual progression of stress on the tire.
This RallyCross is on 8/17 in western New York. Here's a link: http://www.flr-scca.com/rally/2002/rallycross/
I want to find some big-*** mudflaps with Yosemite Sam holding his guns that say "Keep on Truckin'". That should be funny. I could pimp around town with them too. The reaction from the ricers would be priceless!

me RallyXing
If you have been autoXing for a while, there isnt anything thats too different about rallyX. I will say that your car will have more of a tendency to understeer entering a corner, and oversteer on exit. Your car reacts a little slower to direction changes (but your Blizzaks should help with that)
This is stuff you will learn real quick on your first run anyway!
have fun, RallyX is a blast

You might want to skip the Blizzaks and run streets if there are ANY small rocks or even if the dirt is dry hard pack, people were getting their soft Kumho Rally700's chewed up pretty badly, snow compounds fared similarly. I will run them only if it's soft mud. Our next event will be posted at http://www.dcrally.com
Supposedly everyone is meant to take a bucket with them while walking the course and pick up any rocks they find. I think it will be a relatively rock-free course.
Plus, my only street tires are Falken Azenis, which would not do well on any dirt.
