Default different year front end swap

i've been doing research but can't find a direct answer. i'm wondering if 90/91 crx bumpers will bolt directly to my 88 crx si, meaning both front and rear. also, what about the side markers? i know the 88/89's have the two screws and the 90/91s don't, but will they still work? please let me know, thanks a lot

the bumpers will bolt up without a problem and you have to use the headlights from a 90-91 if installing them onto a 88 si but you can use the 88-89 on a 90-91 just have to use the plastic clips that are all the fenders where they are screwed on

The bumper bolts right up, i did it on my 89 rex. The headlights have nothing the do with the front bumper, but some people do change out the brackets in order to run the newer (no external screw) style corner lenses

alright cool. thanks guys

i noticed that on my 88 corner lights that they had 2 tabs on the inside of the fender that i slid the corner light into, then it had a mounting tab in the front of the corner light, and then of course the two screws. how does the 90/91 corner light differ to this? it seems like it mount fine if the tabs are the same, because it seems like it would hold fine with just the slide in tabs and that one front mounting tab. are the tabs the same on the 88/89s as they are on the 90/91s? thanks a bunch guys

and another question about the bumper swap, do you have to swap the bumper supports too? thanks

To swap to 90-91 style corner lights you have to change the brackets that hold the headlight and the 2 clips on the fender.

alright in order to fit the 90-91 front bumper on a 88-89 crx you would need:

90-91 front bumper.
90-91 front bumper support.
90-91 front bumper support brackets.

if you just use the 90-91 front bumper, it wont fit right/flush/proper, itll be extra tight.
ive done this to my 89 crx si, front and back [still have to do the bumper support/bracket swap] also changed the side moldings to match the bumper [88-89 are thicker than 90-91]

i have a set of 90-91 headlight bracket/bucket for sale. if interested.

will the 90/91 core support fit on an 88? cause mine's bent in some on the passenger side and if i'm going to be doing the front end i might as well grab all of it. thanks a lot for the help
