Default ITR VS. 05 RSX TypeS VS Comptech Axle Back

I've been researching these axle backs for a few days now, and have heard that the ITR muffler's have a valve in it that opens up under full throttle to make it a straight though design.

I've also heard that the JDM RSX TypeS muffler is the same and some say the 05+ USDM RSX Type S has this valve in it too. Is this true?

Or would a Comptech axle back beat both these mufflers?

I have a 00 Integra with LS/VTEC and its putting down 187whp. I have Hytech replica header, full 2.5" piping to a Tanabe Hyper Medalion and its just a little too loud for me now. I want to quiet it down but loose as little as power as possible.

My neighbor has a stock 05 RSX Type S muffler that he is wanting to sell, and I have a friend with a 97 ITR that has the Comptech axle back and the ITR axle back and he is wanting to sell 1 of them.

Which would be the best?

i can tell you this though. the DC2 ITR muffler does not have the valve that you speak of.

it is the DC5(rsx body) ITR that has the valve. only the JDM DC5 ITR has the valve. no USDM car has the valve.

i dont know much about the Comptech, but i would assume it'll flow better than the DC2 ITR axle back. not sure about the 05+ JDM ITR though, that thing is a beast.

just make sure if you buy any of these mufflers to change out the muffler bearing when you put them on your car

It's not gonna just bolt up. A muffler shop will need to put it on.

I'd like to see a pic of a 05-06 RSX-S muffler on any DC2.
