Default D-Series Distributors????

i have a sohc zc in my 91 hf my car has been out of commission for a long time. i had a few wiring problems but i think im on the right track in solving them. well anyway, i had tried to start it the other day and of course it didnt start. i previously had a hacked up harness but i replaced it with a a6 harness to return the car back to its natural obd0 state (was running obd1 p06). well i check the fuel pump, main relay, CEL, etc. then i checked for spark on the number 1 cylinder and no luck. im not that Einstein on distributors but im guessing the whole thing just **** on me out of nowhere? i no that the cap and rotor can go out but is that very common? and what other distributor fits my engine? would a a6 dizzy fit? any help would be appreciated please! thanks h-t!

UPDATE:
ok so i did the whole switcharoo explained below and got everything hook up and STILL it wont run. i did get it to start running but then it cuts off immediately. it happens only when i prime the fuel pump. when i try to keep cranking without priming the fuel pump it would just crank and never turn over. however when my brother would cover his hand over the intake it would stay running but then cut off again when he removed his hand??? is this caused by a vacuum leak?...i have a z6 manifold with all obd1 sensors...and i replaced my fuel pump prior with a fuel pump from an Si...PLEASE HELP ME H-T IF I DONT GET IT RUNNING SOON IM GONNA HAVE TO SELL IT!!!!!!!!

What dizzy do you have on there, the one from the ZC? The A6 motor is almost exactly the same motor and so yes the dizzy from that motor is the one you want. Really I think that's the only dizzy you can use, the b series ones don't work, the obd1 or obd2 dizzies won't work and the d15 obd0 dizzies don't have the crank angle sensor in it (the difference between the d15 and d16a6 dizzy is this sensor) and so it won't run your car.
If you have a d15 dizzy on there then that's your problem. Get an d16A6 dizzy and you're good to go, or at least should be.
If that's not it, what ecu are you using? PM6? A PM5 is from the D15 cars and won't work. either a Pm6 (stock D16A6) or a Pm7 (dohc ZC) will work, the pm6 is easier to find though. I have a spare one actually.

the previous dizzy was an obd1 dizzy with the harness swap...and it ran fine with no problems before with it this way...im currently running a pm6 with replaced the older problem of having a fried ecu (which made me go back to obd0).

ok so you're back to obd0, but did you change you obd1 dizzy to an obd0? obd1 dizzies won't work with obd0 ecus.

Si engine harness will not work with HF chassis harness - you should be getting a code 15 for the igniter - the igniter wire is in the driver's side connector on the HF and in the passenger side connector on the Si

also, all of the injector wires are in different locations in the driver's side connector on the HF and Si engine harnesses

i was told all mpfi chassis were the same wire wise with the exception of a/c and all the amenities that the Si has that the HF doesnt? and this has been told to me by a lot of people?...but like i said previously i had no CEL for anything and everything was hooked up as it should.

correct me if im wrong but,

to my knowledge you cant have obd1 sensors if you are now trying to run obo0....

your entire engine must be either one or zero, not a mix-and-match.

Are you still running the obd1 dizzy? You cannot use it with obd0 period!

the OBD0 and OBD1 distributors send different signals from the sensors to the ECU - OBD0 ECU needs OBD0 distributor - OBD1 ECU needs OBD1 distributor

FWIW, I heard about some guy in TX (Endyne?), who ground down every fourth tooth on the OBD-1 dizzy to make it work on an OBD-0 system....Any insight/experience with this Jlicrx?

nope - seems like it would be easier to just get the right distributor

All too true, but I'll just throw this out there 'cause there are alot of cash strapped honda owners looking for info...
Supposedly, the OBD-1 dizzy has 24 teeth on the bottom gear and the OBD-0 has 18 teeth, so the guy ground off every fourth tooth and the OBD-0 ecu was able to read the proper frequency from the OBD-1 dizzy.
I'm just throwing this out there to hopefully get a confirmation from someone that it actually works....
