Default 99civicftw's *OFFICIAL* project thread

Well its been kinda slow but I'm finally charging ahead with my car and getting things done.

Well I guess i'll give some background on the car first. I got it about a year and a half ago after I blew the motor in my Accord. I got it from my dad's friend who is a mechanic and the car was abandoned at his shop so I got it for only $500. It had some damage but we took it to my dad's shop (he does body work) and started working on it.

I immediately started doing things like a minimal wire tuck and stripped all of the sound deadening material out of the trunk.

My friend gave me some wheels he had and i added a lip and grill. This is what i got.

I got it lowered and got new wheels(SportMax 501's)

Then once everything was coming along really good... This happened...

I was hit on the side and pushed into a tree. However I was not going to let it put me down. I have the resources to keep fighting it so i did.

A week later i had this...

not feelin the two-tone or wheels, but that's just my opinion. If you like it, rock it.

looks like it's comin along good though, despite some pretty considerable damage in the wreck.

it's cool because it's different. 2 tone sure beats vynil, even if you chose pink and turquoise.

and don't do chrome wheels... there;s been a lot of nice Si wheel styles over the years, find a good straight set and run with those... I've heard they're eneki (spelling butchery there). Not sure how true this is, but I do know they are on my bike.

it might not be your thing, but i don't think what he has done constitutes being ricey. although the two-tone scheme i'm kind of 50/50 on, the colors you chose atleast are pretty dece. good to see it coming back together again after that nasty wreck

Can you take some pics of the front so I can see how you got everything to line up? I am about to have to buy a whole front end basically and I'm wondering if I should go cheap aftermarket or buy it all factory or maybe used factory.

I actually kinda dig the two-tone, it's pretty subtle. The rims I'm not a big fan of, but to each their own. Good job putting the EJ back together, that wreck looked pretty viscious!!!

personally i would go with a b18, they have decent power with stock internals, unless, do you plan to rebuild the b18 too?

i will once i get a chance. i'll tell you though that everything is lined up just about perfect. However. the aftermarket parts we got my dad ordered through the body shop he works at so their high quality. even still, most aftermarket parts aren't as bad as they used to be.

thanks. i'm starting to lose intrest in the wheels myself. i'd like to get something cleaner. I'd like to have some mugen m7's but i'll probably be cheap and get the rota j mags.

true. if i had a b18 i wouldn't build it. i'm really on the fence about the whole motor thing. i'd love to have a k20 but to do that is expensive so i dont know.
