Default Annoying front tire noise

I recently purchased a 2005 Accord EX 4Dr 4cyl from a private owner with 36,000 miles on it.The owner told me that he had just replaced the tires about a year ago with Michelin's that were suggested by the manufacturer.I had noticed that the front tires appeared to be wearing prematurely as they were cupping around the sidewalls.I also began to hear a very annoying "humming" sound that increases as the speed does and it doesn't matter what the road surface is.I had the tires rotated but to no avail. My girlfriend has virtually the same car but an '07 version that runs whisper quiet. I was advised that a front end alignment should aleviate the problem.I've replaced wheel cylinders in other cars that I've owned and the noise from those previous cars was much more pronounced than what I'm now experiencing so I'm going to rule that out.Oh, I also observed a fairly heavy scuff on the left front wheel before I bought the car which I found was caused when this guy's wife hit a curb. Anyone have a clue about a cure for this road noise? Thanks!

An alignment and tire pressure adjustment may help your situation. Perhaps even new tires since they are already cupped. Your shocks may be worn out in addition to the other possibilities

a good inspection of struts, ball joints, wheel bearings should definatly be done before an alignment is done.

If the shop you go to is any good they will automaticly do this.

If the tires are cupping on the outside you pretty much have your answer. An alignment or wheel bearing is not going to straighten out your rubber.

A wheel bearing will exhibit the same kind of noise, but if the tires are cupped, it's a no brainer.
