Default del Sol for Drag Platform?

Just seeing what you guys thought of such a small wheelbase for a drag car. Not talking sub 9sec car, but in general for lightness/chasis stiffness etc. I remember the maroon one way back as a drag car-- but I'm in need of a new chasis to put my parts into, trying to see what you guys think is best.

It's totally your call, but in my opinion, and only my opinion there are so many things that make racing a Del Sol difficult. There's a reason you don't see many of them

people have built del sols. and it depends on how fast you plan on going. there isnt really alot of room to work with when it comes to cage requirements. remember you still need 10pt at 135.

Yeah, It's like trying to pull teeth trying to find a good shell w/o rust and someone not wanting its price in solid gold for a bust eg, or let alone a decent ek. have an opportunity to toss everything I have into a good condition-- super cheap del sol shell. Got rid of my teggy, looking for something new. Thanks for the link Ls dx

Harry is also using a wheelie bar as well.. Look, I raced with my del sol for 4 years... starting at a 11.00 car and getting it down to a 9.70 car. As for weight, you can get them down to under 2450 with driver... (turbo car with exhaust.. old nhra trim)... The thing that i came to realize is as a street car class chassis, I think the wheel base is at a dis advantage 93" vs. a eg or dc is 101"... Think of it as a tedar tottor, the longer it is the easier it is to move up and down.. Its leverage... I know 8" may not seem like a lot, but it is huge.. I could get the car to 60' pretty well (1.60) was my best, but the car struggled to the 330.. That is where All of my competition would beat me... I am sure I probably could have done a few new things with having the boost come in a little different, or using a differant engine managment to control it better, but I dont think that it could be as consistant as a 101" car.... As for the cage, they are easy just take the targa top off to do it and to work on it in the future.. Just my 02 Cents on it..
