2009 Season
i havent heard anything but i doubt that NHRA would be back.I wish BOTI would get atleast the rules released so people can start planning what to do with their cars for next year.Because ive heard that there will be some changes in the street classes.Being last minute with the schedule isnt sso bad but you can not be last minute with the rules. It just sucks
for 2009, it seems the options will be:
IFO - 14 (Mid) https://honda-tech.com/forums/drag-racing-36/2009-import-face-off-schedule-updates-2439289/
BOTI - 3-5 (west) and 2-4 (east)
IMSTAR - 1-4 events (East - MIR)
World Cup Finals - 1 (East - MIR)
Honda Day -1 (East - Atco)
North vs South - 1? (West)
Import Survival Series - 2-4 (East - Etown)
NHRA Division Events - (National)
New Series?
SFWD Shootout?
FL SFWD Shootout?
CSCS ?
IDRC ?
I'm sure i didnt list a lot of events
It doesnt look like NOPI or NHRA needs to get back involved for us to have many races. We need to continue to have business-minded race-loving promoters planning these races/series. If a race is near you (<4-5 hours), get out and support it, even if its just by attending. Support the sport, and show there is love for it.

yeah, bristol is very nice, but they don't like us. they warned people not to act up on the streets after the first nopi race and they did not, so they told them to never come back.kinda suck!
It's ridiculous that we have to wait so long for a schedule. It's impossible to get help for the coming year when you don't even know when or where you're gonna be racing. Then they wonder why there aren't full fields for pro class fields.
There were a few NOPI events at Bristol. After the last one, there were problems on the street and hotel rooms were trashed. Has another sanctioning body asked about holding an event? Without all the show crap I don't think it would be as big of a problem.
this last season the battle at pacific and the battle at woodburn were great ill be out at those again, i would have been at fontana this year but didnt have a car to compete with :/ i hope they will be back in the northwest next year
Its not professional to have to wait to the last minute before submitting a proposal and make companies feel rushed due to the season being only a short time away.
great question/demand, yet wrong forum for a "solid" answer
also, garcia makes a great point, should these sponsors live through the recession, they would like to get things arranged for the upcoming year. then again the companies that provide the series are probably fishing for sponsorship as well, which is their reason for not posting up a schedule set in stone.

how many cars were actually out at woodburn? i couldn't make it, but never really even asked how it went.
I dont remember the car count but it was a great weekend minus the morons doing donuts and burnouts leaving Saturday. Most of them were Domestics though trying to flex what they had or didnt have. Wooburn was a real nice, smooth weekend. Reminded me of the BOTI's of the 90's in CA for sure. I hope thats on for next year too.
thats good to hear. and now the left hand lane is above par so both lanes at woodburn should be great. hopefully they come back next year, we will be there for sure.
one track i wish a import series would visit is mission. i think its one of, if not, the fastest track in the nw. i forsee a good turnout at mission as well, with the groups of racers up there.
