Help prepping my car for road race.
Ok...i'm building my crx to run the road race and hopefully honda-challenge by next year. However, I would some help from you guys so that I can prep my car to run "legally" in h-c
Anyway..here are the specs of my car
90 Crx si (the heavy model)
b16a swap w/ s1 tranny.
stock ecu
homemade cai
kos 2.5" header
some 100 muffler w/ 2.5" pipping straight from header (no cat)
tanabe sustec non adjustable suspension (2.0" drop)
wings west rs urethane bodykits (i asked before and I was told i'm allow to run ti w/ this bodykit as long as it's installed properly)
Now here's what i have planning to get
ctr pistons .25 oversize
skunk2 stage 3 cams (same spec as jun stage 3)
pnp head
skunk2 manifold
spoon throttle body
ohlins 32 way adjustable suspension
rota fake spoon (15")
oem brembo rotors
some racing brakes from autozone (was told by some h1 racer to use it)
hondata stage 2
I choose to stick w/ b16 instead of going for b18 is because i want to stay as light as possible. b18c is bit heavier than b16 and it desn't really make much difference as long as i can run just as fast as the hybrid b18c eg's
so what do you think of this setup?

this is straight from the honda challenge rule book that is available for viewing on their site:
"Overboring of engines is
disallowed beyond the factory authorized specification for an engine rebuild."
skunk2 stage 3 cams (same spec as jun stage 3)
pnp head
skunk2 manifold
spoon throttle body
"items that attach to the cylinder
head (throttle bodies, fuel injectors and rails, etc) are required to be
sourced from Honda parts"
ohlins 32 way adjustable suspension
rota fake spoon (15")
oem brembo rotors
some racing brakes from autozone (was told by some h1 racer to use it)
hondata stage 2

If a b18c (assuming you mean c5) weighs more than a b16, it's by a small amount. . . but hey, I could be wrong. . .
P.S. - to avoid having everybody flame you for asking this kind of question, email one of the event organizers (Scott or Karl), or go to the website ( http://www.honda-challenge.com )

yes...and .25 is allowed according to the rule book
"items that attach to the cylinder

ok..so I guess I can bore out the tb
and as for fuel injectors? Hmmm...which honda fuel injectors are 310cc?

I was told by like 50lbs or so..well, I might be switching to b18c (jdm itr doesn't come w/ c5's)
but my biggest concern is the tranny. s1 tranny is bit short...anyone have better suggsetion on teh tranny?

I actually went to the website and check pretty much everything there. I dont' see a reason of flaming. I ask to trade/share knowledge w/ each other. Isn't this what honda-challenge is about?

I don't see the reason for flaming either, but some people get salty when these sort of topics pop up alot. Anyway, I'm in the same boat as you, (learning rules and restrictions, building a car that follows those rules and restrictions) so don't take anything I said negatively. BTW, a h22a is about 70lbs heavier than a b16 from what I know, so a b18c, assuming type r, couldnt possibly weigh more than 10-15lbs more than a b16.

uh..70lbs? theres no way in hell that thing is 70lbs lighter. i lift engine all the time (like i said..i'm an importer) and theres no way i can lift h22 w/ just 2 guys and i can easily w/ b16/18/20's..

and 1 thing i forgot to mention is that i don't want to make this an unlimited budget car. I daily drive this baby (but i can't stand w/o ac!) and so far..everything i got is pretty much "used" from japan.

1. No, you can not bore the throttle body
2. Overboring: whatever you can do with an all-Honda bottom end is legal.
3. More questions? Email me. karl@honda-challenge.com

Email me next week. LOTS to do in the next few days, so...I am being selfish and concentrating on my own car for the next 4 days. Sorry
